Tom Baldwin (Wayland Central):
Former All Greater Rochester Player. A Center on Wayland Central, he was named to the All-Tournament team in 1967 and 1968. Baldwin went on to St. Bonaventure where he played on the Bonnies Final 4 team (1970).
 

Darrell Barley (East High)
Former East High star guard. Barley was named the All-State team in his senior season. A two time All- Greater Rochester player at East, Barley went on to accept a full scholarship to Canisius. He scored more than 1500 points at Canisius and was named the MAAC Player of the Year his senior season. Barley was selected by Connecticut in the second round of the 1996 CBA Draft. Current Head Coach at East High
 

Rich Funke (WHEC-TV)
Long time Channel 10 Sports Director. Funke set the tone for all who followed with his positive coverage of Section 5 sports. Was a catalyst for the tremendous increase in the coverage of Section5 Girls Basketball. Funke is currently a news anchor at Channel 10.
 

Dave Gillett (Perry)
25 year Head coach at Perry. Gillett had a record of 355 wins and just 175 losses. His teams won 12 league titles, 4 sectional titles and Gillett was named coach of the year 4 times.

Pete Gillett (Perry)
A 3 time Section 5 Finals MVP, Gillett was named the Livingston County Player of the Year and First Team All Greater Rochester in 2002. Pete holds the Perry record for most career points scored. Gillett went on to play at St. John Fisher College.
 

Judy Knight (Edison)
The first female President of Section 5, Judy has been a leader with the Section 5 Girls basketball committee at many levels. Retired as Edison Tech Athletic Director.

Dan Panaggio (Cardinal Mooney)
All Greater Rochester player at Cardinal Mooney for 3 seasons, Panaggio went on to play at Brockport State. As a coach he won 2 CBA Championships and currently works with the Los Angeles Lakers as the Head Coach of their Developmental team, the D-Fenders

Sam Poletta (East High)
Captain of the Undefeated East High championship team of 1948. Also played guard and forward on the 1946 Sectional 5 Champs at East. Went on to become a referee and was named the Official of the Year in 1988.

Karen Schuster (Livonia)
Section 5 Tournament MVP for 3 consecutive years , Schuster averaged a quadruple double for career (18 points 12 assists 13 rebounds and 10 steals) Was Named to the All Greater Rochester First team in 1982 after leading her team to a state championship in 1980. Currently the Livonia girl’s basketball coach where she has been named coach of the year 3 times.
 

Colleen Sheridan (Canandaigua)
Former Canandaigua guard who was a first team All Greater Rochester player for 2 seasons. As the Braves point guard, Sheridan led her team to 3 straight league titles as a play making point guard who also scored over 1000 points in her career. She went on to become the all-time assists leader at the College of St. Rose, where her team went 125-5 in 4 seasons.

Jim Springer (West High)
A 3 time member of the Times Union All-Scholastic team, Springer was a scoring star for West High. He led the team in scoring every season, including a then record 24 points a game as a senior. Springer set the single game scoring record of 53 points in 1955 against Jefferson High
